Thank God for the good Samaritans who helped us get it running again.

The Horn! Which decided blow on its own, while on the go of course!

The Fire! yes, the engine caught fire once; a rather common occurrence in VW Beetles I'm told.

The Party! I'm all dressed up en route to a 16th b'day bash when it decides to stall for no apparent reason. So here we are, trying to move it out of the way when a truck driver yells "wikunala daanawa oya dakkuwa!" (Sell that piece of junk)

But no amount of persuasion would convince my father to sell this little gem which has a mind of it's own. So after two years of neglect, the yellow bug begins to under go restoration to it's former glory. Follow me for updates on it's progress.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

I believe it’s time; time to stir up the dreams that once was. Have I been gone that long? A friend has left 360 with a broken heart. Another has gone through a terrible illness. Yet another blog simply disappeared into thin air. A few others like I did, have given up blogging temporarily (at least I hope it’s only temporal).

When I think of it, my life too has gone through many changes recently, both subtle and substantial. I have no excuse nor reason for not having written, neither do I have anything particularly exciting to write about currently. What I got here to say was ‘Obedience’.
Obedience to Him in all things is so vitally important. It’s amazing how seemingly insignificant things that we tend to have our own way rather than listening to Him turns out to be colossal problems. Our faithfulness in little things opens the door for Him to entrust to us greater and better things.

God bless!

P.S. - I intend to write more often in future

I’m moving

After a remarkable period of two years, I have decided to make a move from my current job. The strain caused by my academic commitments has finally taken its toll. Hence for the next eight months or so, I’ll be out venturing out on my own.

Time to get all retrospective;

It all started when I left a stable but demanding bank job to pursue higher studies. Sparing you the details, I land a technical writing stint. And all of a sudden people go “oh! So you’re an IT guy?” I’d stick to the title ‘writer’ for now, thank you very much!

The learning curve has been a steep one. But immense fun, they are a hearty lot the technology folk. Not the stereotypical geeks as many would have expected. And of course met some lovely people on the net and got inspired to blog.

One step of faith leads to another. Now I set off to worlds unknown. But I have assurance. I will never be left to wonder alone. It gives me courage and strength. And along with it went some of the writings I’d done. There was one however, which my mom had taken a print out of that survived. I wrote this when I was about fourteen. So here goes…:)

I believe I can fly!

I was sitting in our back porch one lovely evening, staring out to the sky, the birds, dreaming away how wonderful it must be…being able to fly…

And suddenly I feel I’ve got wings! I believe I can fly!

I’m soaring above the clouds. The wind is rushing against my face. I’m flying with the birds. How wonderful everything looks from up here. How peaceful everything is.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

There was no landing for me. I had fallen back to earth with a bump. But I was happy; I experienced the beauty of nature and became a part of it.

So go on…dream and believe you can fly!

For the Good Times!

The zoo might seem like an uncanny place to meet a contemporary in music. And no we weren’t singing to the animals. When I say a contemporary in taste music, it’s one of the most unusual of tastes! From Sinatra to Nat King Cole to the Beatles to Led Zeppling to … well, it’s a pretty long list.

I refer to my pal ‘Roman’ (that’s a nickname...a story in its own right) who will soon be leaving the Paradise Isle in search of greener pastures Down under.

“Life is just a lonely highway…” Sound familiar buddy? At least you would remember the gal who played the bass at the pub with her cigarette butt stuck on the guitar neck ;) not to mention the two ladies who accompanied us.

Our budgets of old often restricted the caviar from flowing in but as you so rightly say “Not a cent in hand but nothing left undone”. What more do we need when we’ve got the best guitar in the world huh? (I’m talking about your dad’s Suzuki… he hee!)

Folks, now let me tell you that this here gentleman also was the owner of very special car…Mini Cooper (1960)! Lets Motor!!! A lot of commuters and cops will be glad to hear the latest news.

Those were the good times shared. Not a care in the world and many a tune to strum.

So… until the fair winds blow our sails in the same direction again, farewell friend! Things have been running smooth to say the least. Seclusion has brought about significant change in the living pattern of this once ‘tenant’ (according to mother dearest) lifestyle.

What better way could illustrate the latter but Jeffery Archer and Mario Puzo that is replaced by recipe books!

Interesting to experience the pleasantries of modern life…taking the garbage out, food left for too long in the freezer, raw and perhaps semi-cooked delicacies…how I could rattle on.

I can say with pride that I have overcome the temptation to throw a house party. I must tell you, it was quite a task with such persuasive peers.

“Bathing time!” … ok now where did those two get to? The two full time guests that my parents decided to bring in (a while before they left), they delight in chewing up the mail as I have so found out. Yes, they do deserve considerable credit for doing such an awesome job during the night. No leaf will flutter without the volley of barks that follows! Thanks guys!

I look back and stand in awe of my God. He is true to His promises and His word. He takes care of me in His wondrous way. He is my Shepard and protector. There have been moments of loneliness but I have known that He is near. I can rest in the assurance that He is in control and always will be.

(this was taken from my yahoo 360 blog)
