I believe I can fly!

Recently my hard disc crashed. And along with it went some of the writings I’d done. There was one however, which my mom had taken a print out of that survived. I wrote this when I was about fourteen. So here goes…:)

I believe I can fly!

I was sitting in our back porch one lovely evening, staring out to the sky, the birds, dreaming away how wonderful it must be…being able to fly…

And suddenly I feel I’ve got wings! I believe I can fly!

I’m soaring above the clouds. The wind is rushing against my face. I’m flying with the birds. How wonderful everything looks from up here. How peaceful everything is.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

There was no landing for me. I had fallen back to earth with a bump. Someone was knocking heavily at the front door.

That beautiful moment was over. But I was happy; I experienced the beauty of nature and became a part of it.

So go on…dream and believe you can fly!

For the Good Times!

The zoo might seem like an uncanny place to meet a contemporary in music. And no we weren’t singing to the animals. When I say a contemporary in taste music, it’s one of the most unusual of tastes! From Sinatra to Nat King Cole to the Beatles to Led Zeppling to … well, it’s a pretty long list.

I refer to my pal ‘Roman’ (that’s a nickname...a story in its own right) who will soon be leaving the Paradise Isle in search of greener pastures Down under.

“Life is just a lonely highway…” Sound familiar buddy? At least you would remember the gal who played the bass at the pub with her cigarette butt stuck on the guitar neck ;) not to mention the two ladies who accompanied us.

Our budgets of old often restricted the caviar from flowing in but as you so rightly say “Not a cent in hand but nothing left undone”. What more do we need when we’ve got the best guitar in the world huh? (I’m talking about your dad’s Suzuki… he hee!)

Folks, now let me tell you that this here gentleman also was the owner of very special car…Mini Cooper (1960)! Lets Motor!!! A lot of commuters and cops will be glad to hear the latest news.

Those were the good times shared. Not a care in the world and many a tune to strum.

So… until the fair winds blow our sails in the same direction again, farewell friend! May all your dreams materialize! God bless you buddy!

Musings of Being Home Alone

Musings of being home alone – Part 1

(oops I forgot the two Canis lupus familiarises. sorry guys!)

Approximately Nine hundred and twelve hours since I’ve been pigeonholed. Things have been running smooth to say the least. Seclusion has brought about significant change in the living pattern of this once ‘tenant’ (according to mother dearest) lifestyle.

What better way could illustrate the latter but Jeffery Archer and Mario Puzo that is replaced by recipe books!

Interesting to experience the pleasantries of modern life…taking the garbage out, food left for too long in the freezer, raw and perhaps semi-cooked delicacies…how I could rattle on.

I can say with pride that I have overcome the temptation to throw a house party. I must tell you, it was quite a task with such persuasive peers.

“Bathing time!” … ok now where did those two get to? The two full time guests that my parents decided to bring in (a while before they left), they delight in chewing up the mail as I have so found out. Yes, they do deserve considerable credit for doing such an awesome job during the night. No leaf will flutter without the volley of barks that follows! Thanks guys!

I look back and stand in awe of my God. He is true to His promises and His word. He takes care of me in His wondrous way. He is my Shepard and protector. There have been moments of loneliness but I have known that He is near. I can rest in the assurance that He is in control and always will be.
